Our co-founders, Mabel and Nicholas, have their own reasons for quitting their jobs to become climate entrepreneurs.

Quitting their stable and high paid job has been a very challenging and risky decision, but both did that, striving to redfine green education with their passions, abilities, and effort.
Here are their little stories to share with you, hoping they can inspire you in becoming the next climate entrepreneurs and join them to tackle one of the most challenging problems in the world!
From our co-founder, Mabel:

In 2020, I experienced significant changes in my life. First, I lost one of my closest family members, and then I was unfortunately infected with COVID-19 in the very beginning when there was no vaccine. My immune system was severely disrupted as my body couldn't physically and mentally handle the disease while under great grief.

In the healing process, I was prompted to reflect on my life and our relationship with nature. The recent heatwave in the UK and COVID-19 made me realise nature is deeply linked with our life. Under the influence of extreme weather, many humans and animals were affected or threatened. Even air-conditioning became a necessity in the parts of UK which was unthinkable even back in 2021.

why becoming climate entrepreneur

After understanding the relationship between nature and humans, I decided to become climate entrepreurs and focus on doing something more meaningful for the world. I returned to Hong Kong to establish Carbon Linking, hoping to change the world's view of green living.

With my partner, Nicholas, and our Carbon Linking team, we can create a bright green future together with you and everyone else.

From our co-founder, Nicholas:

Starting a business from scratch is definitely the biggest decision I have taken in my life. It requires massive investments not just in funds but also time, which can be spent on building my career. In fact, most people quote a massive failure rate of start-ups, further discouraging me from starting my business. It was a very demanding decision to make, one that took me years of planning and consideration.

However, I was adamant about having my own business, so I started planning and preparing myself for it. I’ve been reading more news and articles to understand what society needs and where we are moving towards. It wasn’t difficult to see that the technology sector is growing rapidly. From then, I’d begun up-skilling myself to better suit the world of tomorrow.

I had entered the technology sector to learn about app building and gained insights into how technology functions as an industry. A lot of effort was put into building my network, and setting aside savings for my business. In the process, I’ve earned the support and blessing of my family and found myself a great business partner. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have support from family and a business partner. It allowed me to focus on the business and have much less stress on other aspects of life, which are often equally as important.

Eventually, an opportunity arose and I suddenly felt I knew what I could do, (the risk, the cost, the timeline, the opportunities, etc). That was the point after four years of preparation, I knew I was ready to start.

In the end, along with my partner, we have started our business on technology for sustainable living simply because this is what we think the world needs urgently. Both my partner and I are passionate about saving our planet, so this is where we are now, trying to create a bright green future together with you and everyone else.
