At the recent Youth Social Innovation School Programme hosted by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), Carbon Linking was proud to be the guest speaker and ran a training workshop on 26th July 2023. In the workshop, our co-founders at Carbon Linking shared their entrepreneurial experience and insights about green education and the future of the green economy.

Unlocking the Power of Social Innovation in Business
The workshop began with a close look at the concept of social innovation within the business environment. We discussed its importance and how it can easily fit into different business approaches. We aimed to encourage students to think creatively about incorporating social innovation into their entrepreneurial dreams. We had lively conversations and brainstorming sessions, looking at real-life examples of successful projects combining business and social innovation.

Why Social Innovation?
In short, social innovation is about creating and applying new social practices better than existing solutions to solve a social need. At Carbon Linking, we believe that social innovation is crucial for a community to develop and grow. Taking Carbon Linking as an example, the climate emergency is getting more serious, and we must take action now to protect this planet we call home. Carbon Linking acknowledges that education is crucial to driving longer-term action for sustainable development. Therefore, Carbon Linking provides green tech solutions to redefine the existing delivery of green education, making a low-carbon lifestyle part of the younger generation's daily living.

Carbon Linking's Key SDG: Quality Education (SDG 4)
One of Carbon Linking's key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is SDG4, which focuses on revolutionising education to make it more engaging and inclusive for all. Recognising that the youth are the architects of our future, Carbon Linking is proud to be part of HKFYG's Social Innovation School Programme, training Hong Kong's students to expand their horizons beyond the traditional study curriculum, fostering innovation and nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit.

Once again, we thank the HKFYG for entrusting us with this opportunity to share our experiences and knowledge. We are committed to partnering with more enthusiastic students, schools and the relevant stakeholders, collectively shaping a greener and more sustainable future.
